About this service
Most fundraising copy fails for the same reason: it tells the organisation\'s story rather than the donor\'s story. It explains what the organisation does, what it has achieved, and what it needs. It does not tell the reader what their specific contribution will change, who they will be when they give, or why giving to this cause is the right decision for a person like them.
The structural change that makes fundraising copy work is moving the reader from observer to protagonist. The donor is not watching the organisation do good work. The donor is the person whose decision enables the good work. Every word in a successful appeal is written for that frame.
We handle grant applications (the evidence-led structured case), donor appeals (emotional and rational persuasion combined), crowdfunding campaign copy (platform-specific with milestone sequencing), and impact reports (the narrative that builds the relationship for the next ask). Each has different conventions and we know them.
Some of our fundraising clients are charities and nonprofits. Others are commercial organisations running CSR programmes or community foundations. The copy approach differs between these contexts, but the underlying principle does not: the reader needs to understand exactly what happens because of their decision, and they need to believe that this organisation is the right vehicle for their intention.
